“Jaya Hind has started using Low-pressure casting process where the requirement is for very high quality castings. Low-pressure casting is an advanced casting production technology that is between High pressure casting and gravity casting. Its advantages are smooth liquid mould filling, compact casting structure and high process yield. This process is easy to realize automation, and especially suitable for complex, thin-walled castings. Low-pressure die casting method of production uses pressure – rather than gravity – to fill molds with molten metal such as aluminum and magnesium. The pressure is applied constantly, sometimes in increasing increments, to fill the mold and hold the metal in place within the die until it solidifies. In Low Pressure Casting, Gas pressure, usually up to 0.8 bar, is applied to the metal melt in the reservoir, forcing it upward into the mold cavity. The pressure is applied to the top of the pool of liquid, which forces the molten metal up a refractory pouring tube and finally into the bottom of the mold. The LPDC process allows the achievement of castings with very good soundness and metallurgical quality.
Apart from die casting, downstream processes like trimming, shot blasting, vibro-finishing, machining, leakage testing and high pressure washing & drying make the product perfect for critical application in engines and transmissions.
